What else now...oh, went to a show in PA on the 25th. Did fairly well, the biggest accomplishment of the day was taking home the Overall Performance Champion award. The show was crazy big - many classes had entries numbering into the twenties and thirties!

Ah well! Today we are actually suppose to get a nice big snowstorm! Which would be fine, I don't mind the snow, except my tires are bald...so I will be running around like a crazy person to get all my errands done and get to the barn around noon. If it's really coming down I'll have to have Jeremy come get me after chores and I'll leave my truck there for the night. What? I have a truck you say? With 4 wheel drive?! Yes, but lemmie tell ya, 4 wheel drive doesn't do squat in slick conditions when you have no tire treads...nor does it help that I *literally* live down the road and around the corner from the barn when they refuse to plow the top half of that road for some reason....

First things first - sour cream + bacon pieces + shredded cheese + baked potato seasoning = BEST DIP EVER!!!!

We [Jeremy and I] left for a mini vacation in DC for two days and then went to the Sea To Bay Model Horse Show in Pocomoke City, MD this past weekend. It was a lovely show, we had a great time and did wonderfully well! In total I came home with more NAN cards than I feel compelled to count, 3 AR/CM Division Champs, 4 AR/CM Division Reserve Champs, the AR Overall Reserve Champ, 1 OF Division Champ, 4 OF Division Reserve Champs, the Stone Overall Champion and the OF day "Grandest of The Grand" award. I know, very bad me, no post in quite a few days! But to give you an idea why, these are all the models that I've basecoated with acrylics and then applied their oil layers to (all horses in the first two photos will be some shade or another of dun/grulla, third photo all will be bay or chestnut) -

Jennifer Buxton of Braymere Custom Saddlery has been doing a nifty series in her blog about performance classes requiring minimal tack. The previous "installment" had just about the most adorable, patient Belgian I've ever seen, but today's post was just sheer awesomeness! I am very familiar with the Puissance, but bareback??! It's crazy and spectacular and terrifying all at the same time - serious props to those who do it! Aside from the post in her blog, there's a nifty article about it here.

Anywhoo...here are some photos from today! A few are commissions and a few are sale pieces I've had done for a bit, but couldn't get good photos of.

The Blog and Why It Is

Hi there!
I have come to the conclusion that I need a way of keeping customers up to date, without necessarily relying on individual emails or the annoying thing know as Yahoo groups - so here we have a blog! I figured it was a good middle ground since it's more convenient for customers as you don't have to log into anything to view it, but I can keep everyone up to date with what's going on in the studio and just life in general (as if you really want to know, lol). Plus, it gives me a regular outlet for my insane love of writing which I currently make little use of - but this is *necessary* and therefore I must write!

To anyone who stumbles across this in the next few days, I'd just like to let all my current customers know that all models [that have already been finished or purchased] will be shipping out tomorrow and Friday, clearing the rest of my untimely backlog for the month of May. I do apologize profusely for the fact that some of you have been waiting a while - this month has been one thing after another and we are finishing up the move to the new apartment (where my studio will no longer be located in the middle of the living room, but in it's own space, yay!).
